1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Courses at Sacred Wandering ("we," "us," "our"), a program of Sacred Wandering, collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you register for or participate in our continuing education programs, including through our website (courses.sacwan.org) and our learning management system (Moodle). By registering for a program, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Registration information: name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and, where voluntarily provided, professional license or certification number and issuing state.
Payment information: processed through a third-party payment processor; we do not directly store full payment card numbers.
Program activity: enrollment date, lesson and page access, quiz/assessment responses and scores, completion status, and program evaluation responses.
Technical information: IP address, browser type, and device information, collected automatically through standard web server and Moodle logging.

3. How We Use Your Information

To administer your enrollment, track your progress, and issue Certificates of Completion.
To communicate with you about your program, account, or purchases.
To comply with recordkeeping and reporting requirements of accrediting bodies, including the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), and of state licensing boards where applicable.
To improve our programs, based on aggregated, de-identified evaluation and performance data.
To respond to complaints, grievances, or accommodation requests.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We disclose information only in the following circumstances:

To service providers who perform functions on our behalf (e.g., payment processing, LMS hosting), under obligations to protect your information.
To a licensing or certifying body, at your request or as required by that body, to verify your completion of a program.
As required by law, subpoena, or other legal process.
To investigate or resolve a complaint under our Grievance and Complaint Policy.
In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of organizational assets, subject to this policy or a successor policy.

5. Data Retention

Program enrollment, completion, and assessment records are retained indefinitely within our learning management system, consistent with NBCC's requirement that ACEP program records be maintained for a minimum of five (5) years following each program. [Confirm this figure against the current NBCC Provider Policy document.] You may request deletion of other personal information (see Section 7), subject to the retention obligations described here.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information, including authenticated access controls within our learning management system and restriction of record access to personnel with a legitimate operational need. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, by contacting us using the information in Section 10.
Deletion requests may be limited where retention is required for compliance with accrediting body or legal obligations (for example, completion records required to support a certificate you have already been issued).
You may opt out of non-essential email communications at any time via the unsubscribe link included in those communications; you will continue to receive essential program and account communications.

8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

9. Children's Privacy

Our programs are intended for adult professionals and are not directed to, marketed to, or knowingly collect information from individuals under the age of 18.
